Amazon FBA guide

How to lower your Amazon FBA fees

Most Amazon sellers overpay on fees and never see it. The money does not leave as one big charge. It leaks out through packaging, fee mistakes, and slow inventory. Here is how we cut client fees by up to 30%, in plain steps you can use today.

1. Start with packaging and dimensional weight

Amazon often charges you for the size of your box, not the weight of your product. That is dimensional weight. If your box is bigger than it needs to be, you are paying for the air inside it.

  • Switch from a box to a polybag when the product allows it.
  • Shrink the box so it fits the product, not the other way around.
  • Bundle small items into one unit so you pay one fee, not three.

A half inch can bump you into a higher fee tier. We measure every product and fix the ones costing you the most.

2. Catch the fees Amazon gets wrong

Amazon does not always measure your product right. If they record your item a little larger than it is, you jump into a higher fee tier and pay more on every single order.

They also lose, damage, and miscount inventory in their warehouses. When that happens, Amazon owes you money, but they do not pay it back unless you ask. You have 18 months to file, and most sellers never do.

We audit your account, fix the wrong measurements, and file for what Amazon owes you. One brand got back over $9,000.

3. Clear slow and oversized inventory

Old inventory is expensive. Amazon charges extra storage the longer your stock sits, and more again for items that have aged past a certain point.

  • Watch your inventory turnover so stock does not pile up.
  • Move or remove slow sellers before the penalties hit.
  • Keep the right amount on hand, not too much and not too little.

4. Right-size how you fulfill

FBA is not always the cheapest path. For large or heavy items, the fulfillment fee can eat your whole margin. Sometimes shipping it yourself costs less. We run the numbers per product so you use the cheapest option that still keeps you Prime-ready where it counts.
